The Program – Joyful Confidence & Faith

Public Talk at University of Washington - Confidence in Uncertain Times

Thursday, September 24, 7:30-9 pm
with Gen-la Kelsang Dekyong

All of us want to be confident in ourselves and happy about the direction our life is taking. But in uncertain, turbulent times it's more common to feel powerless and confused. The confidence that will move us forward no matter what challenges appear in our life comes only from the beautiful mind of faith. Making a connection with a reliable spiritual teacher and cultivating this peaceful mind allows us to receive continuous guidance, energy and inspiration. The practical advice shared in this talk is the key to a happy and fearless life!

Introductory Talk - Buddha's Life and Teachings

Friday, September 25, 7:30-9 pm
with Gen Kelsang Khedrub

All of Buddha's teachings are methods to strengthen our mind and free us from negativity. Gen Khedrub will explain how to practice Buddha's teachings according to our personal capacity so that we can see results in our daily lives.

Blessing Empowerment of Buddha Shakyamuni - with Teachings on Reliance Upon the Spiritual Guide

Saturday, September 26 and Sunday, September 27
with Gen-la Kelsang Dekyong

If we want to acquire special skills, improve at a sport, or learn to play a musical instrument, we naturally seek an experienced teacher to instruct us. Similarly, if we want to follow a spiritual path that will lead us to a happy and meaningful life, we need a qualified spiritual guide to show us the way. There is no more qualified guide than Buddha Shakyamuni, the founder of the Buddhist religion, who gave timeless and unmistaken teachings to help free living beings from suffering.

During this special empowerment ceremony – a beautiful guided meditation – we will receive from Gen-la Kelsang Dekyong
the blessings of Buddha Shakyamuni deep into our heart. By drawing close to Buddha, coming to appreciate his good qualities, and developing faith in him as he appears in our life today, we can easily free our mind from confusion, overcome pain and problems, and fulfill the spiritual wishes we have for our self and others.
