Location

The celebration will be hosted by Kadampa Meditation Center Washington at the Kadampa Buddhist Temple in Seattle. Founded in 1994, KMC WA is one of the oldest Kadampa centers in the US. The Temple is located in Ballard and has a spacious meditation room graced by a large Buddha Shakyamuni statue, beautiful stained glass windows and capacity for 300 people and is accessible to everyone. There will also be a live video feed downstairs for parents with small children.

The Emerald City, surrounded by mountains, lakes and Puget Sound, is the ideal setting to celebrate our immense good fortune.

$145 for the full weekend (Thursday, August 28 - Monday, September 1)

$5 for Thursday night teaching only

Proceeds from this event will be donated to the NKT-IKBU International Temples Project, a Nonprofit Buddhist Organization Building for World Peace.

Hotels/Lodging

Special Celebration rates are available at the Hotel Nexus, 2140 North Northgate Way, Seattle, WA 98133 at $119 per room (plus tax) for up to 2 people in a room. Each additional person will be $20 more. All rooms are non-smoking and there is both wired and wireless Internet, plus a free breakfast buffet.

Reservations must be made directly with the hotel. To make a reservation call Hotel Nexus at 800-435-0754 and request a room under "KMC WA". There is no shuttle, however, transportation will be arranged for Celebration attendees.

Accommodations at the Dharma houses adjacent to the Temple will be available on a first come first serve basis. For further information please email KMC WA.
